@MrCrookiemonster The reason i didn’t do that is because that would make a very crude / rough isolation. If you want the isolation to look good you need to use a layer mask and do it by hand.
Or you could use the magnet tool to magnet him out of the background, copy-paste him into the other picture, blur the edges and correct the contrast and colours accordingly.

If you are using CS5 and you want to match the coloring easier, go to Image-Adjusments-Match Color. In the Match color dialog box, the source will be the image file you’re working on and for layer select the layer of the family. You can fine tune it from there.
