@InkRoze
Nevermind…….^^;
@docrock66
I am not sure If I understand your comment. I don’t want to assume, but it’s kind of bugging me.
How would limiting people to enter design programs help everyone to succeed in what they want to do?
I think most everyone is having problems with finding jobs, but it doesn’t have to be discouraging. You can still do the things you love to do in other ways while you are trying to find something. Who knows, maybe enjoying just working with what you love will take you somewhere.
@docrock66
This isn’t just in graphic design. Almost any field applies to this. Nursing for example, is a really popular field that many pursue. Unfortunately, while there are a lot of open jobs available, getting to that job is a lot harder than one thinks. Even makeup artistry applies to this. Even if you get your license, you’re always competing with those self taught makeup artists who may be better than you. I don’t think anyone should get discouraged since this is the truth for any field
@BusinessXpressions ok thank you..the thing is that we cant change our career major
@cutepuppy721 Graphic design can be utilized in many applications a major one being web design especially with flash websites although IT doesnt focus on the art aspect i would say its a good start and you will learn many skills you can use
I am currently a freshman in a magnet high school and i have choosen IT as a career major.I thought that computer programming and networking had assaignments like making logos or websites.
I wanna know if IT can prepare me for graphic designing later on for college.
@docrock66 thats actually pretty fuckin clever….
Have some fantasie, that is the most important thing.
Hester from Amsterdam
@Warfresco prisma color.. they are around $30 for 12
Does anybody know what those markers are? Reply back, thanks
@0x0snowflake0x0 You don’t have to be good at drawing no, you just have to be able to sketch out your concepts. It may help being good at it but at the end of the day the sketches are more for you than anybody else as they allow you to get ideas down much faster than on a computer. If you’re an illustrator then obviously that’s a different matter, but if it’s a general designer doing things like logo’s, compositions and layouts and the like then it’s not THAT important. Just practice!
@cityblueboy1 For printing, the general resolution (actual resolution, not dimensions) is 300 – 400 ppi (pixels per sq inch), that generally translates to about half that when actually printed because it prints in dots rather than pixels which are larger. Make a document in Photoshop or whatever you use and make it the same dimensions (or larger) as the artwork you want, then make the resolution 300, you’ll see how many pixels it needs to be then. It goes more in-depth but I’m limited here lol.
@animefreak873 I agree, its not ” THAT HARD”. Whats hard is to be “REAL GOOD” since only few people in the industry have managed to do it. Many are doomed to be production artists and publishing layout people for 27K start, that would eventually turn into 70 k. Only if they don’t get fired. Many companies don’t care about their production people, because they can always find someone else to replace them. You need to be “REAL GOOD” in this industry to make a good income.
@docrock66 im 13 and im self teaching my self its not that hard!
@cityblueboy1 Use a good Digital Camera with a good resolution, or even a $100 camera from a store would work. It just needs to have a good resolution. And if you get some off of the internet, dont sell the shirts, cause the image may be copywright. Good luck on your shirts.
Hello youtube. I take pictures from my camera phone and from off the internet that I want to put on tshirts. But the printer people and graphic designers are telling me that the resolution from the pictures is way to low to put on a shirt because it will come out messed up and blurry. What can I do to make it not come out blurry?
hey i have a Q ,I AM A CREATIVE PERSON okay? i’m sure i use photo shop i make videos with different programs but the problem is i’m not good at drawing! like it’s not that easy for me to draw something and i don’t know what kind of drawing a graphic designer use so will that be a problem if i study this when i go to college ? bcuz i already applied for this course
EUROSTYLE!
@bonzobilly Prismacolor pens. You can tell by the cap…but the pen doesn’t matter if you’re good at what you do
@pyramidhead138 i dont no!
@RadCelt Listen, I agree with you. But there is big BUT. Graphic Design schools are just not really teaching kids what is asked from them in the real world. And in today’s crumbling market they literally want a PRODIGY out of Junior designer. They want them to know; marketing, design, web, mechanicals, sales, pr, supervising, and even I’ve seen at some posts online they want designers to do HR stuff too. It’s just not what creative minds are meant to do. Everyone has their own pace.
@docrock66: LOL… Let’s get real – No one will hand it to you! What you’re saying is enrollment should be restricted. The fact is – it’s a glamor industry – where one learns has nothing whatever to do with success or lack thereof – (what matters is knowledge, skills and ability – and you can get that from many places – traditional and elsewhere) – Want to be a successful designer? Learn Biz skills too – written/verbal skills, sales & marketing (you obviously need a good portfolio as well)
@docrock66 i understand ur point. In italy we have limited number of students that can enter design universities. However i think that if u are among the best designers and u r creative, you’ll find a job, no matter how many competitors are out there.
@aliniaz It does. Even if you’re having trouble trying to make a career out of it, you can still enjoy it.
Yea, good, but the price ? how many per year ? ……….. no answer, that right, it’s too expansive for the majority of student ! like me for exemple !
